Best practice benchmarking

Together with Montani Ltd. - Oslo,  we have the rights of exclusivity covering Norway and Sweden to apply these unique benchmarking tools.

PROBE stands for "PROmoting Business Excellence and is the suite of diagnostic and best practice benchmarking tools. Developed by the CBI (Confederation of British Industries) and London Business School in conjunction with industry leaders and leading academics, the PROBE tools help companies and organisations gain and sustain the edge in today's highly competitive markets.

Improving your competitiveness

In a highly competitive business environment, it is essential for organisations to improve their performance in order to survive and grow. But just what are your organisation's performance levels? How do you compare with your competitors? Many organisations believe they already know, but the only way to really know if  your organisation is world class, best of breed or just plain average is trough measurement.

Best practice benchmarking will help you measure your current performance level. It will help you, as an organisation, understand whether the practices and culture of your organisation reinforce the values that drive customer satisfaction and business result.

Benchmarking will also help you identify operational strengths and areas for improvement. It will enable you to compare your organisation with competitors, and should be used as a strategic management tool on an ongoing basis to track performance gains.

Service PROBE

Service PROBE allows your service or manufacturing organisation to benchmark themselves against an international database of all types of service providers comparing key areas of service practice and performance. It identifies strengths and weaknesses, as well as priority areas for improvement.

Service PROBE is based on the results of the International Service Study by Professor Chris Voss, London Business School, Professor Richard Chase, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and Professor Aleda Roth, Kenan Flagler School of Business, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It looks at the components of world-class excellence. These include:

  • Business leadership
  • Service processes
  • People
  • Performance management
  • Results

To help maximise the benefit from the benchmark exercise the CBI offers the combined benefit of a results feedback session with the organisational sponsor and a team action planning day. This enables agreement of the key points ensuring that the action plan that is put together is integrated into other improvement activities and the overall business plan.
